From Karteri, heading north, we reach Kionia or Stymfalia. Near the present-day village, there is an old settlement of unique architecture, which is believed to have been continuously inhabited from the 4th century BC to the 19th century AD, as evidenced by the ancient materials found embedded in the walls of the houses. The spring located within the present-day village, around which a big and well-known festival is held from September 11th to 14th, is mythologically associated with Artemis and Hera, while a watermill operated next to it since 1906.
