Tradition, dance and community in Kryoneri since 1985.
Founded in 1985 (originally as the “Cultural and Educational Youth Association of Kryoneri”), it is one of the region’s cornerstones of culture and tradition, dedicated to safeguarding the local cultural heritage and customs.
Since 1993, the Association has run traditional-dance classes for all ages. Its dance troupes perform every year at the Two-Day Traditional Dance Festival during Kryoneri Cultural Week, and at events across Greece.
The Association has represented Greece in the Czech Republic, Germany, Serbia, Italy, Hungary and Belgium — most notably with a troupe at the Athens 2004 Olympics.
Every year in mid-July: shadow theatre (Karagiozis), film screenings, music nights and the Two-Day Dance Festival. It has hosted concerts by renowned Greek artists including Nikos Papazoglou, Pyx Lax, Socratis Malamas, Dimitris Bassis and Manolis Lidakis.
Since 1999 it has organised voluntary blood drives twice a year, strengthening solidarity in the local community.
Taekwondo and artistic gymnastics classes (modern dance and karate in the past). The Association is housed in the Youth Club — renovated in 2003 — which also serves as a lending library.
All of them inside the Municipality of Sikyona — Kiato and its villages.
