Lake Stymphalia
🎫 FreeLake Stymphalia, the southernmost mountain wetland in Europe, rests on a plateau around 600 metres up between Mount Kyllini and Mount Oligyrtos. A protected Natura 2000 site, it shelters rich vegetation and more than 130 bird species, serving as a refuge and resting point for migratory birds. This is also the mythical setting of the sixth labour of Heracles, who here confronted the fearsome man-eating Stymphalian Birds. Reed beds, water and mountains make it a magical place to pause.
