Archaeological Site of Titani
On the left bank of the River Asopos, some 30 kilometres southwest of Kiato and at around 580 metres altitude, lies the archaeological site of Titani. Here stood one of antiquity's most renowned Asklepieia, a celebrated healing sanctuary said by tradition to have been founded by Alexanor, grandson of Asclepius. To the northwest survive the walled remains of the ancient acropolis, commanding a magnificent view over the Asopos valley. A remote, atmospheric site steeped in the ancient cult of healing.
